Mississippi Home Inspection Board has two certifications for home inspectors.
New Home inspector - licensed home inspectors can inspect both New Home construction and previously owned homes. In addition to the minimum requirements for being a home inspector, they are required to maintain a residential builders license as well certification by a of national professional code organization. I have been licensed as a NEW HOME inspector since 2002.
Home inspector - licensed inspectors are limited to inspecting only previously owned homes and only are required the minimum certification requirements.
