Why you should accept Agent referrals for an inspector

With entry to the home inspection business being so easy compared to so many other businesses today there are many more inspectors to chose from. Because of that, It has become increasingly harder to know which inspector to choose?  Because success in the real estate business hinges considerably on agent reputation, it would not be surprising to find that successful real estate agents will refer only the most qualified of inspectors.

Agents know deficiencies discovered by the buyers after entering into a purchase contract, can often result in costly litigations. These litigations can be difficult issues for all parties involved, in some cases this can include both the listing and selling agents.

Typically a list of inspectors is offered to the client and the client is asked to pick an inspector for the inspection. Don't suspect these inspectors as being in the agents "pocket" or not being trust worthy. Even though all Inspectors have to be licensed and insured, agents usually have weeded out the inspectors that are not professional, not knowledgeable and may be to in the agents opinion a little to"green" to recommend to their clients. Agents know that referring an "easy" inspector to a client may cause less problems in the short term but often these "easy" inspectors miss important issues!  More often than not, the agents discovered this information the hard way and you should consider taking advantage of their experience when looking for an inspector.
