Built-in Appliances
Appliance inspections are limited to built-in appliances. Washers, dryers and other portable appliances are not required to be inspected.
Dryer vent defects
Dryers that are improperly vented are very common and under some circumstances could cause a fire. This image is of a dryer venting directly to crawlspace instead of through a metal tube to proper exterior dryer vent outlet. If there was a fire in the dryer, the fire would spread to the lint under the floor and cause serious damage to the house.
